Toy Library Group Membership Scheme
While we are best known for our free toy libraries that operate across Southampton, we also offer support and resources to toddler groups in our city. We love what you do in your communities – you provide happy, fun and safe places for children and families to play and we want to support you!
With this in mind we are re-launching a way for your group to access support and resources through Community Playlink. We would like to invite you to join our Toy Library Group Membership Scheme.
For an annual fee of £20 your group can access the following benefits*:
Borrow equipment and toys for use during your session/s
Access advice and support for your group.
Have the opportunity to offer ‘play workshops’ hosted by Community Playlink.
Have the resources to offer a Toy Library of your own!
*Full benefit details below
To join, simply contact Elaine at Community Playlink
1. Borrow equipment and toys for use during your session/s
It’s a great way to refresh the toys that you have and is a brilliant way to offer your families more variety. We are creating a catalogue from which you can choose items ranging from soft play equipment to water trays, dolls houses, large tubs of construction blocks and so much more. Equipment and toys can be picked up from 2 locations in Northam and Swaythling or can be delivered by arrangement.
2. Access advice and support for your group.
We have an experienced team who can help answer questions you may have about running your group and are always very happy to help on the end of a phone or come for a visit.
3. Have the opportunity to offer ‘play workshops’ hosted by Community Playlink
Here at Community Playlink we love play! We want to encourage as much play as possible for children. Play has proven benefits for a child including physical, educational, emotional and social development but it also has proven benefits between children and the adults around them. It builds strong, happy relationships and also makes lots of fun, lasting memories too! To help with this we are developing a rolling programme of workshops that our members can access and offer to families during their sessions. Workshops will be highly practical and encourage ‘playful learning’ between children and their adults.
4. Have the resources to offer a Toy Library of your own!
We can create a stock package for you, along with all the paperwork that will allow you to loan toys out to your families. Offering a toy library is a lovely additional service and allows the fun of play to continue from your session all the way back home!
